...and passenger!
This was a very fun piece to complete, particularly since Lapras is my favourite Pokémon. I've had my trusty Nessie on my team ever since making my way through Silph Co. in Gen 1. We even made it through the Irish division of a Nintendo Official Magazine tournament together, earning us a Mew! Definitely the proudest moment of my 11 year old life... actually, it's probably my proudest moment in general. I peaked young!
As I've been doing in other recent drawings, I tried to avoid using too much black in the line-art; I wanted a softer, more pastel kind of colour palette for this, so I thought it might help. Having two distinct light sources was also challenging for me, but I like the kind of warm-to-cool gradients you can achieve with it, and I'm happy with how it worked out here.
Stuff used: Paint Tool SAI, tablet, and several mugs of marshmallow-infused hot chocolate (mmm!) to ward off the winter chills

Lapras is such a sweet Pokemon! I like the way it's kind of floating right on top of the waves; blue and orange is one of my favorite color combinations, also!
